How The Rubik's Cube Changed My Life

I remember sitting in the movie theater back in 2006 watching the movie Pursuit of Happyness, and seeing a scene in the movie where Will Smith's character Chris Gardner was in a cab with his (hopefully) soon to be boss, who was trying to figure out how to solve a Rubik's Cube with no luck... When Will stepped up to the challenge and started to twist and turn the thing around until (by the end of the cab ride) he got all sides to match! I remember thinking to myself "man, I really wanna learn how to do that". So I set out the next day to go and try and find one. To my surprise, they really arent difficult to find, seeing as how Target and Walmart, along with many other stores sold them... So back at home, just me and my Rubik's cube, determined to learn how to do it! Hours turned into days as I sat there twisting and turning it, with the instructions in my hand, until a few days in when I was visiting my fiancee (girlfriend at the time) and BAM! I got all sides to match!!! And as time went on, It took me less and less time to do it, and now I can solve it in under a minute without putting much thought into it. The point of this whole story is, I was going through a very rough time in my life where just about everything that could go wrong, did! I found the movie to be very relatable in a lot of ways, and never really stuck to learning how to do much of anything. The Rubik's Cube may have seemed like a silly thing to learn to a lot of people, but to me it was strangely inspiring because I actually set out to learn something, stuck with it, and mastered it! Sure, I've had a few things I've tried and failed since that glorious day when all sides matched. But what I still carry to this day is that if you never try something, you'll never know if you can do it or not!

So get out there and try it people! Learn something new, have some fun, and stick to it!

You'll be amazed what you can accomplish if you put your mind to something!!!

BREAKING NEWS!!! Ronald McDonald Announces He Will Run For President!!!

BREAKING NEWS!!!
Ronald McDonald, who is known by many as a friendly mascot and familiar face when we walk into a McDonald's restaurant anywhere across the country, usually found sitting on a bench just waiting for a friendly visitor to sit with him so he can tell you a story, or ask about your day,
has just announced that he will be running for President of the United States in 2012!!!
Many have already questioned his credentials for such a position, but he assures us that he is fully capable to do the job.
Ronald, who is originally from McDonaldland, born in 1963, has been working closely with his personal friend, and mentor Mayor McCheese, has been asking a lot of questions and learning the ways of local government to go along with his very savvy business minded ways!
Since August of 2003, Ronald Mcdonald has been operating as the "Chief Happiness Officer" of the McDonald's Corporation, and says he is "Ready to move on to bigger and supersized things."

Ok, So maybe none of this is true... but is it really a stretch?
We have a Reality TV show host, and a Pizza man showing up on all different kinds of media and gaining lots of attention recently. So why not a fast food mascot right?
Come on people... Let's keep it together here. we have the Democrat party, the Republican party, the Independent party, and now the Tea Party... party?... The only ones who haven't split the vote into a million different candidates are the Democrats.

Heck... Maybe I'll run for President. It seems like anyone can do it these days!
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!! I'm running for president in 2012!!!
Vote Now!!!

A Match Made In Junk Food Heaven!!!

Oh Frappe, How I love thee...
As with most people I have always enjoyed hitting up the drive through from time to time and grabbing myself some of McDonald's delicious fries and an apple pie or two as a late night snack, or an afternoon delight!
But I never thought they would be able to pull it off when it came to coffee...
For many years now I've been hooked on Starbucks and their Frappuccino's and their Iced Mocha. (don't get me wrong, I'm still hooked) But I've had friend's tell me in the past "Dude, if you like Frappuccino's you'll love the Frappe from McDonald's!"
And I put them off for a long time until I had a friend one day tell me as we were driving through town "I'll buy you one man, you just have to try it".
So I accepted the offer and enjoyed my first Frappe and have been in love ever since!!!
But the love story doesn't end there... Because there was my past love, McDonald's fries!
So I was filled with guilt as I had a decision to make... was I to give my love to the Frappe? Or stay committed to my fries?
Well, Lucky for me I didn't have to choose! Because it turns out, Together they are the greatest love story since Romeo and Juliet! And they must me enjoyed together by all!!!
I suggest you drive to McDonald's right now and give yourself a taste of the delicious duo!!

Frappe + Fries = Fantastic!!!

It Was All A Dreeeeeam...

Well, It has been a few days now since Harold Camping's predicted and "imminent" end of the world and I can't help but wonder... What happened? Am I still here? Did I get left behind?
Many of us wondered the same thing this past Saturday, the 21st of May, 2011...

And to think... I told the Easter Bunny to rush to the North Pole to warn Santa of the dangers that were soon to come...

Man, I sure feel stupid after that... And what really get me is, I sold my unicorn to an Elf and gave my favorite pair of shoes to a troll that lives under the bridge in a nearby village...

Ok...So maybe I didn't buy in to the hype, but lets be real for a minute...

Maybe next time we'll know better than to listen to 89 year old Harold Camping, who has been wrong in the past about the "end of the world"... And Maybe we can forget about trying to figure out when "the world will end" and stop worrying about "will I be married before the rapture?", or "will I have a baby before the apocalypse?", or "will I get to have an iced mocha before the season finale of House?"

And start focusing more on how to make a difference in someone's life, and how to help out someone in need!

There are way too many people out there trying to create fear and chaos in hopes of gaining some odd form of fame, and far too little stories of people helping people and showing love to those in need...

So lets get out there and stop pushing our judgement down people's throats and telling people they're going to hell for one reason or another and start loving people for who they are, giving to those in need, and doing what we can to show the ones around us that we care...

Because let's face it, doing things the way we are doing them now isn't exactly getting people to line up at local churches on Sundays in excitement, or filling up soup kitchens with volunteers thrilled to give someone in need a hot meal.

Let's get out there and do this thang people!!! WOOOOO!!!!
